Founded in the year 1984 by two brothers, Suresh Ahuja and Rajkumar Ahuja, Ahuja Felts is a leading exporter of Woollen Felt and Felt products from India. Having been in the Wool fraternity for 4 generations, Ahuja Felts holds an integral position and this is reflected in our knowledge, expertise and the products supplied worldwide.
A brief history on the family business
Late Shri Harumal Ahuja started a raw wool business in the 1920s in Shikarpur & Beawar. The business went through several ups and downs due to devaluation of the Indian Rupee. Later in 1948, his son, Shri Vasudeo Ahuja started his business of Indian Wool trading in Beawar, Rajasthan.
In 1960, he moved to another town called Bikaner as the raw wool market had started shifting there due to ecological reasons. Within a couple of years, he started manufacturing Woollen yarns in Bikaner, Rajasthan. These woollen yarns were used by his customers in manufacturing woollen cloth and woollen carpets.
In 1984, his two sons, Suresh Ahuja & Rajkumar Ahuja were in Bombay. Looking at the decreasing standard of Indian wool and the natural scarcity of Wool material in India, Suresh & Rajkumar Ahuja took the initiative to start a new venture associated with a product of the existing family business – Wool. They started importing raw wool for Industrial purposes. Raw wool was used to produce Felt and also used by several carpet manufacturers. That is when they came across this versatile textile product, Woollen Felt and its countless applications in various industries around the world. They decided to take the Indian made Woollen Felt and Felt products to the world.
Existing operations are now spearheaded by Saransh Ahuja, 4th generation of the family, who joined the business in 2009 to carry forward the legacy.
