Tannery Felt is a high-quality pressed wool felt supplied in rolls and sheets with densities ranging from 0.18 gm/cm³ to 0.90 gm/cm³ and varying thicknesses. Rolls are available up to 20 meters in length and 2 meters in width, depending on the thickness and density required. Widely used in the leather tanning industry, this felt plays a critical role in two major processes:
- Wet Blue Process – The felt is wrapped around rollers that squeeze out moisture from hides under high pressure, delivering a smooth finish and preventing folds or creases.
- Ironing and Embossing (Hydraulic Press Process) – Felt pads act as pressure-absorbing surfaces during the final pressing of hides, ensuring uniform results without damaging the material.
